Healing Chakras, Energy Work, and Foot Zoning

Ever since I had Emmett and Jeffrey returned home after spending a few weeks with his grandma, (when I was on "stay in bed or else" bed rest) I knew something had changed. I knew in my heart that Jeffrey had been emotionally traumatized. Gone was the happy, sweet, content, and trusting little boy, and in return we had a scared, frightened little child that felt abandoned, confused, and betrayed.

It took a year before he would even sit by me. I also knew his problem wasn't Emmett. He adored Emmett.

So, for the last few years we have dealt with this. Social anxiety, non verbal, uncooperative, non compliant, etc... We had him enrolled at a local early learning center preschool for two years that specialized in treating children with special needs. He was making a lot of improvements, but still really struggled in social situations at home and elsewhere.

Since his birthday is in August he could no longer go to the early learning center. So, we enrolled him in kindergarten. The first week went about as we expected. Terrible. I was really struggling emotionally, and Shane made the comment to me, "Maybe there are some chakras you need to clear." I agreed that was probably the case, and then it hit me... JEFFREY probably had chakras that needed to clear.

So, I worked on it. I got all his chakras to clear except for his heart chakra. This didn't surprise me because I knew that's where he was probably hanging on to all his trauma experiences.

This led to me getting foot zoned for him. Along with the foot zoning came energy work.

The result?

We have Jeffrey back. Oh my do we have him back! Today we went to get the oil changed in our car, and he just randomly said "Hi" to the guy at the service counter. This would NEVER have happened before. He is so much more content, and a little chatterbox. Of course he still has his emotional moments, I mean, he is five. He is such a happier and more content five. He willingly goes to kindergarten. He WANTS to go. The other day he made me get him dressed in his school clothes as soon as he got up, and he has afternoon kindergarten.

If I ever wondered if all this alternative technique was something that was just in my head, this alone would have made me a believer.

Letting Go

I've known for a long time, years even, that one of the food allergies I had was directly tied to an emotional experience. For much of that time I thought it was associated with a certain person, and that for whatever reason, even though I felt like I had gotten over the emotional turmoil, I just couldn't get rid of the allergy.

Well, I've discovered something with letting go of negative emotions and experiences since I started having foot zones, energy work, and chakra clearing done. (I know, sounds a little kooky even to me, but I am better off for it.)

Anyway, since I've set out on this healing adventure, which is going on about 10 years now, I've learned that when my body is ready to let go of things, it lets me know. This usually comes about by dreams, thoughts, experiences, etc...

Well, I had long ago just accepted the fact that I would probably always be forevermore allergic to strawberries. I had my first allergy to them when I was in my first year of college. I didn't know that's what it was at the time, I thought I just had a really horribly bad cold, but after a few years, I realized that strawberries were the culprit.

The other thing I learned was that it wasn't a "real" allergy. At least not in my blood. When I had my blood tested for specific allergies, nothing came back. NOTHING. That blew me away, because I KNEW that if I ate and do eat certain things, I do have a reaction. With strawberries that reaction happened whether I knew if there were strawberries in it or not.

Anyway, I hadn't even really been thinking about my allergy to strawberries. At least not on the forefront, but I had a dream. It was about someone that hasn't been in my life directly for a very long time. It was a very vivid dream. I felt very strong negative emotions in this dream. When I woke up, I had the thought that maybe, just maybe strawberries were tied to the negative emotions and experiences that I had with this person. It made even more sense to me, because I knew that Shane was also tied to my allergy to strawberries (not in a negative way, but because of the negative memories and experiences I had with this person, and how they also treated Shane, so it tied him into it too.)

Initially when I found out that Shane was tied to my strawberry allergy I was stumped. But after the dream, it all made sense, and then when I found out it really was that person, I had some soul searching to do.

I was thinking about all that I had went through with this person, in my junior and senior year of high school, and all the turmoil and craziness that this person brought to my life. I also thought about all the negative things and how it had affected me. It affected the early part of my marriage (which, honestly, anyone but Shane I don't think would've handled very well).

Initially I thought of the dark emotion that I harbored toward this person. It was black, I could see it in my mind. I gathered it (mentally) into a ball and let go of it. Then, knowing that I needed to replace it with something better, I replaced it with sorrow. Not sorrow like, oh I'm sad, but a sorrow more of, "I'm sorry that you felt you had to treat me this way, to be that person, to do those horrible things."

As I was thinking through all of it, I knew that another thing I needed to do was to forgive this person. I had the desire, but I knew that I just couldn't do it. I thought about it some more, and I prayed, and I remembered Corrie Ten Boom and how she couldn't forgive the Nazi officer who wanted to shake her hand after the war, and how she turned it over to the Lord and asked for his help to be able to forgive this man who had done horrible things to her and her sister. I thought, "Maybe I can do that too..." and so when I prayed I turned it over to the Lord. I told him I had the desire, but I couldn't do it without his help. I didn't want to hang onto this negative emotion/experience anymore.

In a moment the negative emotion was gone.

I felt light. I knew, that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ had helped me let go of this negative memory and experience in my life.

Supposedly my strawberry allergy is gone... It's been ten years. I am so used to not eating strawberries....I think it will take a while to dare to eat them again! Regardless, even if I still can't eat them, it is nice to know that such a dark chapter in my life has been laid to rest.

Healing My Heart

When I started clearing/opening my chakras, I did it all out of order. In the first video Carol Tuttle explained that most people open them in order, but if you felt like there was one you needed to work on, work on it! I muscle tested too.

Anyway, the chakras technically go in this order:
0 Foot Chakra
1 Root Chakra
2 Sacral Chakra
3 Personal Power Chakra
4 Heart Chakra
5 Throat Chakra
6 Intuition Chakra
7 Crown Chakra

I went in this order:
0/1 Foot and Root Chakra
4  Heart Chakra
2 Sacral Chakra
7 Crown Chakra
5 Throat Chakra
6 Intuition Chakra
3 Personal Power Chakra

Clearing the heart chakra was huge for me. I felt the whole time I was working on clearing these chakras, that I was just ready to do it. I had so much that I was ready to let go of, so much negativity, so many past experiences that were dragging me down emotionally, physically, spiritually, mentally, that I was just ready. It was nice and refreshing to clear them, and create new pathways for my thinking processes.

Opening the heart chakra was so monumental for me, because I was able to clear the wall surrounding my heart. When we go through life, we get hurt, and as a protection, most of us put something around our heart, whether it be a wall, a box, a lock, something that removes our heart from the rest of the world.

One of the false thinking ideas that you remove when you clear your heart chakra, is the idea that the heart can be broken, or harmed. The heart is strong! The heart is fully capable of dealing with life. Opening chakras, there is a lot of visualization involved. For me, the object or idea that came to mind when I thought about my heart chakra, was a thick stone wall. In many ways it reminded me of Rapunzel's tower.

The tower is gone.

This isn't to say that you can't protect yourself as a person. There's a lot of negative stuff out there, that we don't have to take on. There's a lot of things we don't need to worry about dealing with. When we are helping people, we can help them without taking on their problems.

Right after I cleared the heart chakra, I realized that while the wall was gone, I felt very vulnerable. It made sense, I mean, I had just removed a mighty fortress that protected my heart. The problem with having a wall was that the wall also removed me from dealing with emotions and situations as well. With the wall gone, I found that I had to do a couple of mental preparations whenever I found I was going to be dealing with a lot of people, until I figured out how to deal with it in a positive way.

Opening this chakra, as with all the chakras, brought me a level of peace. I found myself thinking different types of thoughts. Instead of beating myself down, my thoughts were positive. Instead of chewing myself out for not having a spotless house, I looked at it in perspective. Did the messiness still bug me? Yes, but the thought patterns didn't. Instead of thinking about a social situation and beating myself up for saying the wrong thing, I was able to look at it and just let it go, or think about ways I could be better in the future (which, instead of obsessing over, I just thought about briefly and then just let it go.) The heart deals with a lot of emotion...all the chakras do really, but the heart for me was quite pivotal in changing my thought patterns.

For me clearing my heart wall allowed me to open myself up to new emotions. Because I had a different way of thinking about things, I was able to deal with it better.

The other great thing about opening my chakras, is the negative anguish is gone. A lot of my past experiences involved negative emotions. Now, the memories are still there, but the turmoil is gone. It's almost as thought I have gained a new perspective. I can look at the situation, without feeling the pain.

It has also helped me not worry so much about how people look at me, or view me. I am who I am. I am doing the best I can, and that's good. Everything will work out the way it's supposed to. Everything will be all right.

Me and Migraines

I think I first started getting migraines when I was about 21. Okay, I KNOW when I got my first migraine. It was after I had Harrison and decided to go on birth control even though I felt like I shouldn't. (I know birth control is good for lots of people, but not me, it has never been good for me. 1. Turns me into psycho crazy woman, 2. has never been great for doing anything for my cycle other than screwing it up even more.)

Prior to that I had had lots of sinus headaches. I know, you're thinking, really? You're comparing the two? Well, not really. I would take a sinus headache any day compared to a migraine, but a severe sinus headache is just as bad for me as a migraine in the nausea department.

Well, once I started getting migraines, the quest became how to NOT get migraines. Anyone who has had a migraine understands this feeling, because I firmly believe that migraines are evil. They are awful curl up in a ball and feel like you want to die type headache. People that have migraines for a week? I just, I can't even fathom that and my heart goes out to them.

Anyway, first of course I went to the doctor. Sure, they have medicine to give people with migraines, and I tried it....mmm....no dice. The pain went from my head to my arms and legs. It felt like cycle cramps but worse. So. much. worse. Okay, that's not going to do it.

Then I tried to change my diet, because migraines have "trigger foods." So, no dairy, tomatoes, chocolate... Honestly that did help, but wow.

About that point in time my husband was talking to his coworker who also did craniosacral therapy. I figured why not? What do I have to lose? A migraine? I'll take it! Honestly, out of all the alternative medicine therapies that I did prior to now, craniosacral therapy helped the most. After I had a few sessions, I could eat whatever I wanted! Except strawberries. I have never been able to kick that one. It's tied to some pretty strong emotions I guess.

Then we moved. One thing that I have found about alternative medicine is that you have to be comfortable with the person doing the method. Just like a western medicine doctor. If you don't trust them, or feel comfortable with them, it's not going to work as well. So, I never went to another craniosacral therapist. Even so, before I went to him, I was starting to have 3-5 migraines a week. Afterward, I could go about six months without one, and then I would have to go back.

Since that time... I have tried essential oils, chiropractors, NAET, foot zoning, energy work, body talk, cold laser treatments. They almost all helped, but never did they make them go away.

My latest of course has been healing my chakras. When I was going through healing them, migraines came up as being a symptom of having a closed crown chakra. It made sense to me, especially because the medicine world has theories of how migraines are caused, but they can't prove them. They can't completely get them to stop. They can't heal people of them.

So far, it's been about a month since I initially opened my crown chakra...and...no migraines! For me that is amazing, because prior to that point I had been having 1-2 migraines a month. Doesn't sound like a lot, unless you've had migraines before. Any migraine is too many! So, I am very interested to see if I stay migraine free. I will keep you posted...

Chakra 0-1

I put "chakra 0-1" because it encompasses the foot chakra and the root chakra. For me, I cleared both of these at the same time. I remember when I initially cleared chakra 0 because afterward when I was working on clearing other chakras I would keep thinking about whether or not I needed to clear chakra 1 and I always felt like I already had.

In my last entry about chakras I just wrote a general experience about it, but I decided I would go into more detail and describe how using Carol Tuttle's Healing the 7 chakras has really helped me. It has been a rather interesting experience. I could tell even after clearing just chakra 0 that it was helping me.

So, reasons to clear your chakras: you feel overwhelmed, depressed, anxious, stuck, wondering, obsessive, negative, can't sleep, etc... all these negative emotions are tied to experiences we have gone through in our life. For me it has been extremely liberating to open them.

So, with Chakra 0 the main emphasis is on expanding your energy circle. I found before I had opened this chakra that I often felt overwhelmed with my family, having four kids, I never seemed to have enough energy or be good enough. I never felt like I was doing it right.

Well, by watching the video that goes along with this chakra, I applied it to me personally. I looked at my own life and what I wanted to change. What was I dealing with? What was overwhelming me? What did I want to have happen? My whole being was ready for this change. I felt like everything that I had been experiencing in previous years was guiding me to being ready for this. I was ready to clear these chakras!

Almost immediately after opening chakra 0 I felt ability. I no longer felt negative about whether or not I could deal with the things that go along with being a parent to 4 kids, I just knew I could. It was possible, and I could do it! I immediately had more energy, and instead of feeling like I was doing everything wrong, I felt like I was good enough. I might not be perfect, and I might make mistakes, but I was good enough to do this!

It was an amazing feeling. It still is.

I don't want you to think that instantly all my negative things were gone, because they weren't...and they still aren't, but compared to what they were, it is so much better. I have a lot of emotional baggage to work on, and when I am ready to deal with it and clear it, it shows up. I can usually tell I need to work on clearing some negative past experience when I get really ornery and irritable. Instead of getting depressed about it though, now I take a deeper look inside. I think, "which chakra is this affecting? Which chakra do I need to work on to get this emotion dealt with?" Some things take little to no time to clear, and other things take a little bit longer.

It has been so great to experience this though. It helps me be a better person. It helps me be more open to spiritual things and really learn from the Holy Ghost and work on things that I can do to be better, instead of always worrying and obsessing over what I'm doing wrong.

I asked Shane if he could tell if there were any differences in me, and he immediately said "yes!" He noticed that I have been happier and more optimistic about things, and not so down. He told me I smile more which makes my eyes sparkle. :) As for myself, I find it is easier to reason through things. Instead of beating myself down in my head for doing things wrong, or mistakes, I can look at it objectively. The bad news coach is gone!

A Change For The Better

There are a lot of things that seem to run in my family. Depression is one of them. I first started to deal with it when I was about thirteen and going to middle school. I still remember the thoughts I had. I still remember how I felt, and wondering why I was feeling the way I did. It was hard.

The middle of my freshman year in high school, I decided I needed to change. I looked at my life, and really tried to remove anything negative. I looked over the music I listened to, the books I read, the movies I watched, the people I spent time with, and if I felt it was negative...I removed it. It was gone. A bit drastic, but it helped the depression go away, for a time.

That was just the first time.

After I was married, and had had my first child, I dealt with depression again. This time I went on an antidepressant. It helped, but it made me feel like I was on a cloud. I didn't feel like I was me. I didn't like it. I began to search for other ways to deal with depression.

The most beneficial for me, seemed to be energy work, foot zoning, and for a time, essential oils. I realized I had a lot of emotional baggage. It really helped keep the depression at bay, but it always seemed to come back. Still, I felt it was better than using medication to deal with it. I felt better.

So, a little while ago, I was struggling again. I was given access to Carol Tuttle's 7 Chakras healing program. I had dealt a little bit with chakras when I had had energy work done, so it wasn't a huge shift to just working on chakras.

In the program, she goes over all the chakras in detail, and how to open them, or heal them. She actually includes another chakra that isn't typically used, so technically there are 8 chakras that you can open/heal. I started with the first one. Just clearing and opening that one chakra made such a difference in my mind! It was amazing and wonderful!

As I have cleared others, a similar thing has taken place, and it has been so good. I still have two more that I need to clear, but I feel so much better now than I did. The thoughts in my mind are so much more positive. When a negative thought tries to enter in, I think, no, that's not right. That's not how it is.

It has also helped me be more positive. I have a better outlook on things. I'm able to do things that I wasn't able to before. I can actually feel my body healing things that it has dealt with for a long time. Another great thing, is I yell less. Things that used to bug me immensely don't seem to bother me as much anymore.

It's been a great mind shift, and a great change for me. Once I clear the last two, it will be interesting to see how I feel, and for how long. It's been a good thing.
