Last week we went camping. My sister and her family came and camped for two nights with us. It was pretty fun, and the weather was great! It was so nice. It got nice and chilly at night, just the way I like it, and then it didn't even really get warm until about noon. I think the high temp of the day was about 80 degrees.
Then we came home. It was NOT 80 degrees here. No, it was in the hundreds. Blech! To top it off, somehow or other our water timer got turned off so our grass didn't get watered...all week long...on the hottest week of the summer so far. I was NOT a happy person.
Our friends had recommended this water timer. We bought one and tried it out. It worked great! Sweet! So, whether we accidentally turned off our water faucet, or someone "helped" us out by turning it off for us, my dreams of green, lush, grass, were pretty much dashed when we drove up to our house.
Oh well.
The last night of our camping trip, Jeffrey decided to explore the lantern on the table. He unfortunately burned the tips of two of his fingers. Thankfully they are only second degree burns, and it was only on the tips of two of his fingers. We are hoping that the one blister that popped will stay healthy and not get infected, but after talking to our pediatrician, we are just watching it. Since he is a crawler, we bandage up his hand and put one of Hazel's socks on it. Then we put some coban around his wrist so he can't just pull the sock off. This works quite well, and keeps him mobile, and more importantly keeps the burns clean.
So, that is the little tidbits from my past week. It's been busy, and I can't really say that I am super excited to be back in this extremely hot weather (because we all know how much I LOVE hot weather), but it is good to be home. Jeffrey was so excited to be home that as soon as he was set down he started crawling around the house and squealing with glee. It was pretty cute.

barrett pulled the hot glue gun down on himself when he was about that age and got a pretty bad burn on his finger. we got a salve to put on his finger and then put it in a sock and used duct tape to take that to his sleeve (it was november). luckily, it did the trick! we were worried that it would scare up and make it so she couldn't bend his finger but it didn't. poor sad babies though!
