New Things

So, Easter weekend was so much fun! It was also the school's spring break, so Harrison and Hazel had Friday and Monday off from school. So, on Friday we took the kids over to "Baby Animal Days" which is on a historic farm. It's funny really, because my kids see baby animals all the time for free, but there is something different about seeing baby animals on a "historic farm..."

Hazel especially wanted to ride a pony, but after looking at the line, I told her that daddy had lots of cousins who owned ponies, and I was positive that if we called them up and arranged a time, they would be more than happy to let her come and ride one for as long as she wanted! (I was right, too, but we haven't done it yet.)

We asked Shane's mom if she would like to come with us, and she did. We had such an enjoyable time. Some of Shane's cousins help with the activities they do on the farm, and we had a lot of fun interacting with them.

Saturday we had our annual Easter party at my parent's house. We go eat lunch and then have a big Easter egg hunt afterward. It was good to see some of my siblings that I haven't seen for months!

Also about this time we had decided that we needed to start looking for a new camping trailer. We knew a few things...we didn't want to get a loan, but if we had to, then we knew the max we wanted to pay on a loan. This equaled just a few thousand. We wanted a trailer with enough room so everyone could sleep in it comfortably, and we wanted it to have a working bathroom.

So, we kept our eyes on the lookout for a trailer on ksl.com which has a classifieds section, and there were a few trailers that looked half decent. Then a trailer came on that looked really good. It even had a full-size bed in the back as well as a dinette in the front that turned into a full-size bed and a bunk overhead. We went and looked at it, and these people had kept it in such good condition. It is a 1983 trailer, but it was nice and clean on the inside.

The best part...after looking at our finances and tax return, we realized we didn't even need to get a loan at all!! Perfect! So, we went and picked it up yesterday. It even pulls really well with our Yukon which was one thing we were kind of worried about.

Maybe one of these days I'll even post pictures of our first trailer and our trailer that we just bought...hahaha... The kids were both ecstatic when we told them we were getting a bigger trailer. So, it is exciting and makes us all want to go on a camping trip. :)

I hate tent camping but my husband says it's not REAL camping if you have a trailer. Can I be a part of your family? :)
