So Yesterday we went to Salt Lake for Harrison's follow-up psychiatrist appointment. It was very short, only less than 15 minutes, but basically we just talked about how Harrison was doing on the medication. Since he is doing great, the doctor just filled out more prescriptions.
I asked him if it was possible to have the pediatrician take over writing the prescriptions, and he told me that if the pediatrician was willing, that would be fine. So, hopefully we will see if the closer (and cheaper) doctor will take over that part.
Getting to the appointment in Salt Lake was quite an adventure. We learned a few things to do differently if we decided to go this way again (which may be possible since gas prices are going up so high...blech...)
We decided to try going via frontrunner, which is basically a commuter train and pretty nice. We thought the kids would have fun riding the train since they've never ridden a big train before.
We knew once we got to the city we would need to use TRAX (a lightrail train system) and the buses. They have a daily group pass for 4 for 13.50 so that way it actually ended up being a tiny bit cheaper than driving all the way there.
The route recommended on the internet webpage had us take the frontrunner to Salt Lake and then get on a bus that would put us about 2 blocks from where we needed to be.
We looked at the TRAX route and found out that the TRAX got there about 2 minutes after a different bus that would drop us off right in front of the building our appointment was in. If we waited for the next bus we would be a few minutes late for our appointment.
So, we decided to take the frontrunner, and then catch the bus recommended. BAD IDEA. It was busy, and we ended up being 30 minutes late for our appointment. That bus route was SO LONG and SO SLOW! Thankfully they were still able to see us, but we almost wasted our time going down, because we would have missed the appointment and had to reschedule.
So, even if we had taken TRAX and had to take the bus that would have made us a few minutes late, it would have been better because TRAX runs on a more timely schedule and the other bus route is a faster route that is also more on time.

Now watch....the next time you take the TRAX it'll be really busy and you'll really, really be late!
That's like getting in the short lane at the grocery store, thinking it'll be quick, and that's when the lady in front of you decides she'll use her 40,000 coupons that takes 10 minutes to ring up!
