Very Nice

The funeral was very nice. A very good tribute to a good man. It was fun to hear the stories his kids had to tell. They were good stories. They were good examples of the kind of man he was. There was a lot of music as well, which was definitely fitting, since he LOVED music.

And it was bittersweet. Like I had mentioned before, he wasn't doing the best health wise, and had been suffering. He hadn't been able to do the things he always loved to do. He loved to sing, and had reached a point where he couldn't even do that.

So, he will be missed, but we were all glad that he wasn't suffering anymore.

It was especially neat to see Shane's dad be able to be a part of the veterans honor guard. Because of this, he was the one who got to hand the flag to Shane's aunt. It was very touching.

And yes, they even served yummy potatoes at the lunch... :)
