Best Pulled Pork Ever

About 10 years ago Shane and I went to a progressive dinner where they served pulled pork. It was the most delicious thing we had ever eaten! So, of course we asked for the recipe, only to be informed that it was a "family secret."

That began our quest to figuring out how to make the same thing. Well...it took a LONG time, but I think we've finally achieved it. The funny thing is, is it is so simple and tastes just as good. We have wondered if this is really how they made it, and if it is then the joke is on everyone, because it literally takes about 2-3 ingredients to make.

So, here is this extremely complicated recipe... :)

1 frozen pork roast, doesn't matter what kind, they all work. You could even use pork chops if you wanted, but a lot more work to achieve what you want in the shredding department.

1 packet Canadian Steak Seasoning marinade- This has to be the marinade packet, if you just use regular seasoning it won't work as well or taste as good.

Extra garlic salt if desired.

Place frozen pork roast in large crock pot. Pour seasoning packet and garlic salt over roast. Cook in crock pot on high for about 6 hours. Check occasionally to make sure the roast is creating enough fluid as it cooks. Occasionally I do have to add a little water, but not much.

Once the roast is getting close to done, or done, take it out and shred it. Place back in crock pot and let it soak in the juices for another hour or so. If there aren't enough juices add more water just until the meat is barely covered.

You can serve it at this point, but we have found that if we make it 1-2 days before and then heat it back up, it tastes even better.

You can also make this for large groups of people. Just remember you will need one seasoning packet per roast.

Cooking times vary, if the roast isn't shredding it needs to be cooked longer.

This tastes especially good on hard rolls, but you could use it to top salad or in a tortilla as well.
