Why is it that whenever Hazel decides to play with something that Harrison has set down and forgotten about, suddenly it is the most important thing ever?!
Harrison made a boat out of bionicle pieces and legos. It looked really neat. He came and showed me. Yes, it looked neat. Then he promptly forgot about it. Hazel came along and saw the cool bionicle boat and decided to start playing with it. Of course, then Harrison got upset because Hazel happened to be playing with his boat. Never mind the fact that he has a tote full of legos downstairs just begging to be used in another creative creation.
He then spent the next HOUR sulking about this boat. He even tried to manipulate Hazel to give it to him. I guess he hasn't learned yet that you can't manipulate four year olds. They just look at you like, why are you acting like that? He was in on the chair in the front room informing Hazel that he was going to be miserable and not play with anything until she gave him back the boat. Yeah, Hazel was really concerned!
So, then I told him that he couldn't blame Hazel because he was "miserable," and that he could choose to be happy and play with something else if he wanted to. Of course he didn't really appreciate that little bit of parental advice either...
How many days til school starts again??
