What a crazy weekend...

Things have gotten wild and crazy here. Saturday Hazel informed me there was water in the basement. Knowing that she is only 4 I thought she had spilled a glass of water on the floor or something.

No. There was water dripping in the basement. I nice bubble had formed right above our couch. I quickly went and got a bucket and then called Shane to give him the wonderful news. Shane was busy helping his dad load some wood onto a trailer, but at that point in time was on his way home. He stopped off at our house to look at the leak and his dad continued on.

We were still trying to figure out what was causing the leak when Shane got a phone call from his mom and was informed that his dad had wrecked his truck unloading the wood off of it. (The wood was in framed sections.) When his dad was lifting the wood off of the trailer it fell and hit his truck. It broke the windshield and the two side windows on the driver's side. Thankfully, his dad wasn't hurt. Still, it was $6500.00 worth of damage. Again, thankfully the truck was fully covered, but Shane still felt bad.

We thought we had figured out what was causing the leak, but then on Sunday afternoon after church I noticed the dripping had gotten worse instead of better. So, when Shane got home he ripped the sheetrock off the ceiling (not hard since it was mush!), and found the leak.

I guess the benefit of living in a house that is 100 years old and has been added onto and remodeled who knows how many times, is our house has two water systems. The leak was in the water system that went to the master bathroom and the laundry room. So, we can still use the kitchen and other bathroom.

Today is laundry day, so it's off to the laundromat for me! Woohoo!
